SistersIN is a ground-breaking leadership development programme designed to inspire, empower, and support sixth form girls in Northern Ireland. By pairing students with mentors in leadership roles, the initiative helps young women build their confidence, develop valuable career skills, and see a future for themselves in leadership across all sectors.

This year, GrowWeb's own Aedín and Sinéad had the pleasure of mentoring two fantastic students from St. Patrick’s College, Maghera (their former school).

Over the course of the programme, we had the chance to support our mentees through a series of in-person and virtual sessions. We explored their goals, discussed their strengths, and helped build their confidence for life beyond school. From talking about career journeys to working through challenges together, every session was inspiring, not just for the students, but for us as mentors too.

One of the highlights was seeing how much they grew in such a short space of time. Their willingness to learn, ask questions, and reflect on their own potential was nothing short of impressive. It reminded us why initiatives like SistersIN are so important as they help young women realise just how much they’re capable of.
